** 1967 WWI Colt Commemorative- 2nd Battle of the Marne

.45 ACP caliber. 5" barrel length. SN: 3343-M2. 2nd Battle of the Marne commemorative pistol in display case. Item displays a blued metal finish with smooth wood grips. Slide shows scrollwork to left side depicting American "Doughboys" approaching a German trench. "{Rampant Colt}" logo to rear of slide. Right slide shows a scrollwork banner reading "1917 WORLD WAR I COMMEMORATIVE 1967/COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." Grips feature bronze medallions to both sides. Left grip panel medallion shows an "{Eagle}" surrounded by "1917 1918/WORLD WAR". Beneath this is a banner reading "{Star} 2nd BATTLE of the MARNE {Star}". Right panel medallion displays a list of the victorious Allies over a banner reading "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION". Comes in olive green wood box with plexiglass panel to front and a design including the "{AEF Ribbon}" to upper right corner, "{Doughboys advancing}" to lower left corner, and the text "The 2nd BATTLE OF THE MARNE/'American Units Advanced 11 Miles in Three Weeks ... A Formidable Enterprise for World War I". Back of case shows a cardboard insert featuring a map of the battlefield. Item comes with one "COLT/45 AUTO" marked magazine. Box contains owner's manual, "Colt Industries" "PERSONAL GUN HISTORY" certificate, and one packet of two screw-on wall mounts for case. Item is from a matched set including lots 7142, 7143, 7144, and 7145. 

Condition:

Excellent. Blued metal finish is perfect. Wood grips have strong edges =and are without handling wear, but right panel shows residue from double sided foam tape. Case interior has discolored remnants of double sided foam tape in the spot behind where grip sits. Map to rear of case has some discolorations while edges of box have some scratches and mars to paint. Packet of wall mounts missing a screw.
