English, 18th century. An original, fully operational square piano, manufactured by James Henry Houston of London, 1727. The interior of the lid is inscribed J.H. Houston 1727, and marked above the keys James Henry Houston / No. 95 Wardour Street Corner of Edward Street / soho London. The piano features walnut construction with diamond inlaid banding to the apron, lid and tapered legs; ht. 33, wd. 63.5, dp. 23 in.

There is an old repair at the left corner of the face of the piano. Very small areas of veneer loss and stains. Otherwise very good condition.
