Our consignor purchased this rifle from John Rigby Company in 1959 while serving in the United States Army as an Officer and pilot.  Has its original canvas and oak casing.

The barrels retain most of the original blue finish. Little wear if any. Frame with nice silvery gray and mottled look, some colors in the protected areas. Overall excellent metal.  Stock and forearm with the original oil finish. Checkering has a couple of small areas where there are some flat spots. Bores are bright and shiny.  Overall this rifle is excellent for a vintage classic Rigby Rifle. The canvas case has some staining so going on the outside of the case, has a dirty look.  some loose ends that could be restored. The lining is dirty looking, which could be properly cleaned. Label inside the lid is in fair condition with some small areas missing. Most of the label is intact. Most of the tools are still in the case. Plus two snap blocks. It also has a tag from the Provost Marshall when the consignor brought it back from London in June of 1959.  A great Classic double rifle coming from an old collection and fresh to the market.
