American, early 20th century. A sterling silver equestrian trophy in the form of a classical urn, decorated with acanthus and vine motifs. One side with embossed presentation reading The Latonia Cup / Presented By / The Kentucky Jockey Club / Won At / Latonia / October 8th 1921 / Distance 2 1/4 Miles Time, and two blank reserves, the other side featuring an embossed horse and jockey, spurred on by a figure of Victory. Marked on underside for Lebkuecher & Co. with pattern number 03849; ht. 16.25 in. (at handle), silver wt. 69.58ozt (2164g).
