18th Century French Half-stock Fowler
.69 caliber. 42.5" barrel length. SN: NSN. Percussion fowler with a swan necked cock lever and fixed blade front sight. Browned metal finish. Walnut half stock has a plain straight grip with cow-hoof buttstock. Features a tapered barrel with fluting to rear half, and a solid rib that runs the entire length of barrel. Item also has barrel thimbles and double sling swivels. Missing trigger guard. Markings are obfuscated but visible marks appear to read "D./VERSAILLE" to right side lockplate. Lockplate also has basic fret engravings. Item is without ramrod.

Condition:
Poor to fair. Bore is dark and has oxidation overall. Browned finish has mostly turned to a dark patina and has pitting and oxidation overall. Item has hairline cracks, losses, and scratching overall. Wood to metal fit is decent, but there is some slight gapping along forearm.
