1832 Heavy Artillery Sword by Ames
19" wasp-waisted, spear point blade with a 10.25" wide central fuller and dual 3.5" fullers near the hilt. 25" O.A.L. Obverse ricasso marked US/J.H/1856, reverse marked AMES MFG CO/CHICOPEE. Crossguard with JH inspection on obverse and RHKW on reverse. Cast brass hilt with fish-scale patterned grip and American Eagle motif cast into pommel cap.
Condition:
Good. Blade cleaned to bright with markings weak on the reverse. Some lightly scattered pitting present on blade, edges with a few minor nicks. Hilt with a nice, uncleaned patina.
