Faberge Romanov Imperial Eagle Brooch with Ruby, Sapphires and Diamonds, Ca 1905

A Faberge double-headed Imperial Eagle presentation brooch in 14 karat rose and green gold ca 1905. 28mm square. White guilloche enamel background with a sunburst pattern. 4mm x 3mm oval deep red ruby center. Eight 3mm square cut blue sapphires alternating with engraved laurel leaves form the outside border. Rose cut diamonds accent the eagle and mark the full set of the coat of arms. Kokoshnik mark for 14 karat gold and Saint Petersburg. Marked AP for Aleksandr Vasilyevitch Romanov. Attributed to Henry Wigstrom, Faberge workmaster. Sunburst reverse in gold. Catch marked 56 with the Kokoshnik mark to the right of AP.
