1754 Manuscript Document Addressed to Daniel Parke Custis, First Husband of Martha Washington

8" x 11"; Dated March 20 1754, at Plum Island, Massachusetts, by an unidentified sender (looks like "Newbury Home"), regarding payment of unspecified bills. The note is addressed to Daniel Parke Custis at York River/Rappahanock River, Virginia. Custis (1711-1757) was a wealthy Virginia planter whose widow, the former Martha Dandridge, married George Washington in 1759. Custis and Martha are also notable as being the great-great-grandparents of Robert E. Lee.

Condition:Previously folded into sixths, with separation at the folds.
