In its first dedicated Asian Art auction in nearly five years, Cowan’s saw robust bidding that sent prices soaring past their estimates on the way to a $368,460 day. Bidding was especially heavy on a pair of Yongzheng Celadon bowls with Fu-Bats when 15 phone bidders from around the globe battled three online bidding platforms for over 10 minutes before finally hammering for $80,000. The inclusion of a standard 20% buyer’s premium pushed the total price realized to $96,000.
Cowan’s next Asian Art: Discovery Auction will be held in January 2019. If you would like to consign a piece in that auction, please contact Jennifer Howe at email@example.com or 513-871-1670 x221.
