Cowan's Summer Firearms and Historic Militaria auction features two days of quality items covering a wide range of collector interests. Featuring an eclectic selection of historic militaria, including trench knives, swords, long guns, and a variety of uniform accessories, lots included in this auction are perfect for completing the finishing touches of nearly any collection.
Day one of the auction will feature numerous collections of military and civilian awards from the First World War to the modern day from a wide range of national origins. This portion of the auction will also include a U.S. flag flown from PT 502 during Operation Overlord in June 1944, the monumental military campaign that signaled the beginning of the end of Nazi power in Europe (Lot 203). In addition to this important piece of American history, day one will include an excellent selection of classic military arms such as U.S. Trapdoor Springfields, M1 and M1903 rifles as well as an array of handgun collector favorites U.S. M1911 and P08 Lugers.
Day two will include an impressive collection of sporting long arms and handguns. Of special interest are a cased set of Set of Texas Sesquicentennial Winchester Model 94's with bowie knife (Lot 586), one of a limited run of only 150 sets. Day two also features a Case Commemorative Set of Winchester Model 94 and Colt Single Action Army (lot 585), ivory-gripped Colt Beasley (804), and British 1871 Pattern Royal Dragoons helmet (950).
