Auction Begins Closing

Cowan's July 11-24 American History Timed Online Auction features a wide array of important historical objects including manuscripts, documents, photographs, textiles, and other artifacts representing some of the most important events and eras in American History such as the Revolutionary Period, the War of 1812, Westward Expansion, the Civil War, World War I and II, and more. As always, this auction is comprised of an abundance of early photography including plenty of remarkable Civil War images and a large collection of exceptional American Indian and Western photography (including property descended directly in the family of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody). Highlights of the auction include an Uncut Bolt of 44-Star US Flags, offered as Lot 82; a 1936 Bronze Olympic Torch offered as Lot 98; Declaration of Independence Signer Benjamin Rush, US Bank Stock Document Signed, offered as Lot 173; a group of three W.H. Jackson Albumen Photographs of Kansa, Hidatsa, and Pawnee Indians, offered as Lot 209; and a pair of C.M. Bell Photographs of Identified Ogalalla Dakota Indians, offered as Lot 213.
Special Collections items are available for absentee bidding only. You can browse the catalog and place bids at any time.
This platform operates using the "proxibid" method - you may place a high bid and the system will bid on your behalf up to that limit.
5-Minute Closing Rule
Starting at 12:00 PM (Noon) on the Final Date, all lots will close starting with lot #1. There will be a 1 minute period between each item until all items close.
Any bids placed within 5 minutes of the closing time will extend bidding by another 15 minutes. This rule will apply continuously until no bids are placed within the 5 minute period.
You will receive an email notification:
-each time you place a bid
-when you are outbid on any lot
-at the close of the auction if you are the high bidder
End of the Auction
