Cowan’s Auctions, a Hindman Company, is proud to offer a myriad of historical documents, artifacts, and images in the November 13-23 American Historical Ephemera and Photography: Timed Online Auction. Featuring over 300 lots, this auction has something for every historical collection, from Revolutionary War-era documents and newspapers to Wild West photography and promotional materials. This sale also contains a wealth of cased and framed hard images, CDVs, and stereoviews from the Eugene R. Groves Collection of 19th Century Photography, and numerous cameras and viewing devices from Dr. Tom Mullaney's 30-year Historic Photography Collection, Lexington, Kentucky. Highlights include a 16th-Century printing of Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy (featured as Lot 237), a William Henry Jackson, Hayden Expedition Albumen Photograph of Yuma Apache “Jose Pocati” (featured as Lot 286), a large format photograph of Civil War doctors of the 5th Army Corps under General Meade (featured as Lot 65), and an exciting array of documents and ephemera from soldiers of the Ohio 7th Volunteer Infantry (featured as Lots 90-92).

Timed Auction
Special Collections items are available for absentee bidding only. You can browse the catalog and place bids at any time.

Absentee Bidding
This platform operates using the "proxibid" method - you may place a high bid and the system will bid on your behalf up to that limit.

5-Minute Closing Rule
Starting at 12:00 PM (Noon) on the Final Date, all lots will close starting with lot #1. There will be a 1 minute period between each item until all items close.

Extended Bidding
Any bids placed within 5 minutes of the closing time will extend bidding by another 15 minutes. This rule will apply continuously until no bids are placed within the 5 minute period.

Email Notification
You will receive an email notification:
-each time you place a bid
-when you are outbid on any lot
-at the close of the auction if you are the high bidder

End of the Auction
You will receive an invoice detailing the hammer price, a buyer's premium charge, sales tax (for Ohio residents) and a shipping quote. To schedule a payment, contact us at payment@cowans.com, or call our office at 513-871-1670.

There will be a Buyer's Premium charge of 25% added to the final price of each item sold in this auction.
