31 caliber, serial number 256165, 6" octagonal barrel stamped Address Col. Saml Colt New York, US America. All serial numbers matching. (EST $300-$500)
Condition: Grey metal gun, barrel is cut with 10 lines deep into the barrel. Cylinder scene is lightly visible. Some salt and pepper pitting throughout frame. Wood grips appear to be old replacements, however they could be the originals. Brass regions with nice patinated look.

Condition: Barrel is grey metal turning brown. Backstrap and trigger guard has been cleaned bright and re-patinated. Grips retain ca 50% original varnish, but thinning.

4845 M1849 CASED COLT POCKET REVOLVER,
.31 caliber, 4" barrel engraved on top of barrel in script Saml Colt, serial number 95033 with punched dot above number on barrel and below number on frame, and below number on backstrap and trigger guard. (Punched dot indicates factory engraving). Five-shot cylinder with standard stagecoach scene on cylinder. Factory engraving rendered on frame, barrel, loading-lever, backstrap and trigger guard. Burl walnut grips. Cased in an original 4" 1849 Colt walnut case with copper powder flask, proper bullet mold without spruce cutter and with proper Colt markings. Complete with cylindrical Eley Bro. London caps and balls. All serial numbers are matching. (EST $8000-$10000)
Condition: Barrel has ca 60% original blued finish but thinning. Barrel with some light flaking in the muzzle region. Frame is very sharp with ca 60% light case hardened colors showing, but thinning. Cylinder scene is 80% visible with ca 30% original blue finish, but flaking and thinning. Loading-lever is finely engraved with light case colors present. Backstrap and trigger guard retains ca 95% of original silver plating. Brass flask stamped E. Pluribus Unum on one side. Void of original lacquer finish that has turned to a nice patinated color. Mold has deep scratches on both sides that have oxidized to a nice mustard color. Burl walnut grips at one time may have been refinished. Original Colt 4" barrel case. Case with nominal scratches. Box lining is original, but has faded. This is an extra-fine firearm.

Condition: Front of muzzle is rounded from holster wear. Barrel, frame, cylinder and loading-lever are covered with salt and pepper pitting. Backstrap and trigger guard is slightly tarnished with a sheen to it. Walnut grips showing lots of use with dings and mars and lightly dried oil finish.

Condition: Grey metal gun with darkened look and covered with light pitting. Heavy pitting and wear on recoil shield on right side of frame as well as the nipples. Brass has nice mellow yellowed color. Grips retain ca 60% original varnish with some minor nicks and dings

Condition: Entire gun has been heavily cleaned and is very badly pitted and is in overall poor condition. Replacement wood grips. Mechanically not functional.

COLT 1851 NAVY REVOLVER,
.36 caliber, serial number 66257, 7.5" barrel stamped on top Address Col. Samuel Colt New York City. Beveled screws (characteristic of London made gun), iron backstrap and large trigger guard. Battle of Campeche scene on cylinder. Walnut grips.
This is a London variation that was never shipped to England. There are no British proofs anywhere on the revolver. (EST $1200-$2000)
Condition: Barrel has turned to a lovely, light brown in color with traces of blued finish in protected areas. Barrel is very sharp and crisp. Loading-lever has turned from a grey-to-brown color with some finish remaining in protected area. Cylinder has no original finish and the cylinder scene is visible. Cylinder has a dark brown look with some light pitting around the outer edge and around the nipple cavities. One nipple is severed and flush with the cylinder. Cylinder pins are battered, but still visible. The backstrap and trigger guard have turned dark brown in color with traces of blue finish showing. The walnut grips are untouched, but the finish has peeled and worn through the wood. A very nice gun, in attic condition, that was used and put away and not properly cared for.

.36 caliber, 7.5" barrel, serial number118285. Single-line NY barrel address. Left side of frame stamped Colt's Patent. All serial numbers are matching. Brass backstrap and trigger guard. Original one-piece walnut grips. (EST $1500-$2500)
Condition: Ca 40% original blued finish on barrel, but thinning. Loading-lever has traces of blue color in protected areas. Remainder regions are grey, but sharp and crisp. Cylinder scene is ca 100% intact with ca 80% visibility. Cylinder pins on rear of cylinder are present, but battered. Frame has a mottled grey look from having been lightly cleaned. Backstrap and trigger guard have been cleaned to a bright appearance that has begun to re-tarnish. Wood grips are in very good shape with some few minor dents. A very sharp and crisp 4th Model 1851 Navy.

.36 caliber, 7.5" barrel, serial number 2775, barrel address Col. Colt London. Colt patent markings on the left side of frame. Iron backstrap and trigger guard. British proofs on cylinder. Walnut grips. Oak case with green lining. Cased set complete with flask, mold and nipple wrench. There is a spurious silver disc on the lid of the case inscribed From the Citizens of St. Louis to General J. S. Marmaduke C.S.A. 1860-1864. [John Sappington Marmaduke] by the citizens of St. Louis Mo. (EST $1500-$2000)
Condition: All metal surfaces are smooth and sharp and have been touched-up with a cold blue finish. The grips retain ca 70% original oil finish. The oak case is not an original case and is lined in the proper style of green cloth. The flask is the original bag flask with English markings and is in overall excellent condition retaining most of its original lacquer finish. The bullet mold has a smooth grey finish. The cleaning rod is in excellent condition.

5207 COLT 1855 MILITARY RIFLE,
.56 caliber, shortened 22" barrel, serial number 553. Five- shot revolving rifle with walnut buttstock and forearm. Pewter tip on end of forearm. Brass trigger guard and three leaf rear sight. (EST $600-$800)
Condition: This is a military rifle that the barrel length has been cut down to 22" and the rifling has been bored to create a smoothbore. Forearm has been cut to accommodate the barrel and a pewter tip has been added. All metal surfaces are smooth with a light to dark patina. All markings have been rubbed off. Rear tang screw is battered. Buttstock has been shortened, sanded and refinished. All modifications are possibly period and with a great overall Western look.

M1860 COLT ARMY SIX-SHOT REVOLVER,
.44 caliber, 8" barrel stamped on top Address Col. Saml Colt New York, US America, serial number 10954. Walnut grips, with brass trigger guard and steel backstrap. Four screw frame.
Serial number research shows that this was possibly issued to the 16th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. All serial numbers match. (EST $1000-$1500)
Condition: Barrel has a pleasing brown look and is very sharp and crisp. Loading-lever is mottled and grey with very faint traces of case colors. Frame is a nice light brown mixing with grey and has a very sharp look. A few screws may have been replaced. Cylinder scene is 100% in tact because it has been re-rolled, giving it a very sharp and crisp overall look. Grips show some dings and mars, no visible cartouches. The restoration enhances the overall look of the gun.

COLT M 1860 ARMY REVOLVER
.44 caliber, 8" barrel, stamped Address Col. Samuel Colt US America, serial number 110615. Walnut grips, Battle of Campeche scene on cylinder, brass trigger guard. Military sub-inspector's marks on cylinder, backstraps, grips and trigger guard.

Condition: Entire gun is possibly an old arsenal re-finish or even an old re-blued finish. There are some old lines in the sides of barrel that indicates this, however the markings are very crisp and sharp, the sub-inspector's initials are very sharp and still puckered. Barrel is sharp and crisp retaining ca 80% blued finish. Loading-lever retaining ca 80% original cased colors. Frame retaining ca 85% original case colors. Backstrap retaining ca 90% original blued finish. Cylinder retains ca 70% blued finish, but thinning. Edge of cylinder engaging markings are still legible. Walnut grips are numbered to the gun and retain all of the original oil finish. Minute dings on butt of grips. Military sub-inspector's cartouche is very clear on bottom of butt. Both cartouches on right and left side are 100% legible and clear. The barrel of this revolver may or may not be an arsenal re-finish. The grips on this revolver would hold a revolver with ca 95% finish. Front sight is crisp and the front of the muzzle is untouched. A very crisp example of a Colt Army. In our opinion the sides of the barrel have been touched up and the screws are re-done.

4835 MODEL 1860 COLT ARMY REVOLVER,
.44 caliber, serial number 39651, 8" barrel, with sub-inspector's markings. Grips marked Co. E. 8th Cav. Three screw frame. Cylinder stamped Colt's Patent 4368 with faint scene of Battle of Campeche. Mismatched serial numbers as follows; frame 39651, trigger guard 39363, and backstrap 39651.
More than likely this is a refurbished Army by Springfield Arsenal and reissued to the 8th Cavalry. (EST $900-$1500)
Condition: Entire firearm has nice brown patina. Bore is fair. Sub-inspector's marks and other stampings are crisp. A well-used Cavalry Colt with 8th Cavalry markings on the grips. The grips show much use, but markings are clear. A very nice representation of a cavalry Colt used after the Civil War.

Barrel, backstrap and trigger guard marked with punch dot above serial number on barrel, below serial number on frame, below serial number on trigger guard, and punch dot below serial number on backstrap. Cylinder stamped Colts Patent No. 1148 Patented Sept. 10th, 1850 with faintly visible Battle of Campeche scene. Walnut grips. (EST $1500-$3000)
Condition: Entire gun is basically a grey metal that has patinated nicely. Original factory engraving on firearm has been touched up in places (the backstrap) by a modern engraver to bring it up to sharp condition. Grips are definitely a replacement. Gun has been lightly cleaned, re-aged by a gunsmith to look old.

Condition: Holster is in excellent condition with crazing on entire body. All seams are solid. Belt loop on rear of holster has some scuffing and a small split caused from the course of the guns removal. With very sharp crisp overall look.

Condition: Frame, cylinder and loading-lever have patinated to a beautiful plum color. Barrel retains ca 70% original blued finish, remainder turning a lovely plum color. Cylinder scene of Battle of Campeche is relatively crisp. The grips are nice and sharp with a few minor dents, and overall retains ca 80% original varnish.

.36 caliber, 7.5" barrel stamped on top Address Col. Saml Colt New-York U.S. America, serial number 8872 with punched dot above number on barrel, punched dot below number on frame, punched dot below number on backstrap. (Punched dot indicating factory engraving). Backstrap engraved with a flourished A.W. Trigger guard with sub-inspector's markings C and .36 cal. All serial numbers are matching.
This firearm reportedly belonged to Alexander Webb, however no substantive proof is available. (EST $3500-$6000)
Condition: Barrel is factory engraved, and has some blue finish showing in protected areas. Barrel has nice darkened look, however there is some light salt and pepper pitting running from the top of the barrel to the middle of the muzzle. Front sight is very sharp. Loading lever is darkened with some cased colors showing in protected areas. Hammer covered with scrolled engraving and figured into a dolphin formed hammer shape at the top. Cylinder scene of the Battle of Campeche is ca 80% visible, denotation on cylinder is legible. Cylinder pins are visible but very battered. Finish on cylinder has faded to a nice light brown patina. To the right of Colt Patent markings there is a light spot of discoloration - about 1/4" in diameter. Frame is very sharp, and has a nice darkened look. All markings are sharp and clear with no pitting. The factory engraving is clear, sharp and untouched. Brass backstrap and trigger guard have been lightly cleaned to a shiny brass color. Original ivory grips with a restoration that measures 2" by 1/4" width - to the rear of the grips running along the backstrap. The grips have been re-aged to camouflage the repair. Two replacement screws in backstrap and trigger guard. All other screws are original to gun. Very attractive factory engraved Model 1861 Colt Navy.

Condition: Entire metal surfaces have a nice dark brown look with some light pitting around the wedge area. Some light pitting is evident in front of the cylinder and the frame. The trigger guard has an untouched, mustard look. The grips are in good condition showing some wear and scuffs on the bottom edges. The bottom of the grips has a very light but legible cartouche.

.454 caliber, 5.75" octagonal short barrel, serial number 4468. Same serial number stamped on cylinder. Rear lock stamped London Armoury & Co. Frame stamped Kerr's Patent. Left side of frame stamped in oval London Armoury. British proofs on cylinder and barrel. Checkered walnut grips with very faint JS and anchor mark on inside of grip at bottom of trigger guard. Excellent specimen of a possibly-used Confederate revolver. (EST $2000-$2500)
Condition: Entire revolver is gunmetal grey with traces of blue finish in protected areas. Salt and pepper pitting covering the cylinder especially in the nipple area and face of cylinder. Some pitting on both sides of the barrel at cylinder region as well as flat of top straps. Walnut grips are excellent.

Condition: Entire revolver has been lightly cleaned, showing light salt and pepper pitting all over the revolver. It has been chemically aged to have a nice light brown look. Having an overall sharp and crisp look.

.45 caliber smoothbore, 8.5" part-round, part-octagonal blued barrel. Top of barrel with crisp markings denoted in three lines Lindsay's/Young America/Patented October 9th, 1860. Brass frame, trigger guard and straps on handle. Handle is composed of two-piece ivory grips, which are hard to find.
Approximately one hundred of these models were made. (EST $1500-$2500)
Condition: Barrel shows considerable amount of bluing (which may be an old reblue). All lines are very sharp and crisp. Brass frame has probably been cleaned a long time ago. Overall excellent condition. Ivory grips are original. A very scarce item.

Condition: Blued barrel with case hardened frame. Retaining ca 80% original blue with some browning and thinning on barrel. Case coloring on loading lever ca 50%, but tarnishing. Case color on frame ca 40% is in tact, but thinning. Trigger guard and backstrap retaining ca 90% original silver plating. Grips with ca 80% original varnish with some scuffing around bottom edge of the butt on both sides and some bare wood is visible. Cylinder scene ca 99% intact and very sharp.

.36 caliber, 4" barrel, serial number 24399. Barrel stamped Manhattan Firearms Co. Newark, NJ. Brass backstrap and trigger guard. One piece varnished walnut grips. Cylinder is rolled-engraved in five decorative oval panels with military and naval scenes. Twelve cylinder locking slots. Series III. (EST $600-$800)
Condition: Barrel address is very sharp. Barrel is covered with nice brown patina. Loading-lever screw is partially mutilated. Loading-lever and plunger with dark brown patina. Cylinder is smooth with a dark brown color. All markings in cylinder scene are very legible. Frame has very sharp dark brown patina. Right side of frame with nice brown patina mixed with heavy scale rust. Backstrap trigger guard retains ca 50% original silver-plating, but thinning. Walnut grips with ca 90% original varnish. Edges of backstrap have nice green verdigris around the grips.

Condition: The barrel has most of the finish, however has turned plum. The cylinder scene is very clear and the finish has turned to a plum color. The frame is a silvery grey with some light scattered areas of pitting. The grips retain ca 70% original finish with nominal nicks, dings and some scratches.

Condition: Frame, cylinder and loading-lever have oxidized to a nice chocolate brown look. Backstrap and trigger guard with traces of silver oxidized black. The rest of brass has a nice deep tarnished mustard look. Walnut grips have been re-varnished and show expected dings and mars.

Brass trigger guard has a nice tarnished mustard look. Walnut grips retain ca 90% of original oil finish with some dings and scratches.

Serial number research indicates this revolver is one number off a gun issued to Co. K, 16th Missouri Volunteer Cav. (EST $800-$1200)
Condition: Barrel, loading lever, hammer and frame have a nice patinated brown look with scattered areas of light pitting. Cylinder is a gun metal grey mixed with brown and there is an area of the cylinder with heavy pitting. The brass trigger guard has mellowed to a nice mustard yellow color. Grips have blackened with a lot of scuffing around the bottom edges. Some scratching on the grips.

REMINGTON NEW MODEL 1858 ARMY REVOLVER,
.44 caliber, 8" octagonal barrel, serial number 95458, top of barrel stamped Patented Sept. 14, 1858./ E. Remington and Sons, Ilion, New York, USA /New-Model. Walnut grips and brass trigger guard. The entire revolver is covered with sub-inspector's marks. (EST $1200-$1800)
Condition: Entire revolver and cylinder has ca 60% original blue, but thinning. Trigger guard's brass is shiny on the bottom with a light patina on sides of trigger guard. No inspector's cartouches on grips. Cartouche has been sanded off. Grips are nice and dark with a little oil finish remaining. Grips are not numbered to the gun.

CIVIL WAR REMINGTON 1861 OLD MODEL ARMY REVOLVER,
.44 caliber, 7.5" barrel, six-shot pistol of which about 6,000 were produced in 1862 under government contract. This gray gun shows heavy but honest wear with faint serial number 1708 and Remington’s Ilion, N.Y. barrel address mostly obliterated. Void of US inspector’s marking if any were originally present. The closest serial number on record is 1753 issued to Co. L, 8th Michigan Cavalry in December 1864 followed by 1758 to Co. B, 10th Illinois Cavalry in October 1863. (EST $400-$600)
Condition: Dark gunmetal frame and barrel showing moderate-to-heavy pitting with screws turned and old vice and tool marks noted. Original walnut grips intact but without any original finish or visible cartouche. Cylinder indexes but can be turned manually when cocked. G.

.36 caliber, 7.5" barrel, serial number 17707. Barrel stamped Patented Dec. 17, 1861/ Manufactured by Remington, Ilion, NY. Walnut grips with brass trigger guard. (EST $800-$1200)
Condition: Barrel has ca 30% original blue on the flats of the barrel. Some heavy oxidation and pitting on right side of barrel. The loading-lever is a New Model 1858 lever. It is an old replacement and has pitting and grey metal showing. Frame has a nice light brown with grey metal with pitting on right side of frame and on top of frame. Cylinder has nice light brown patina. Brass trigger guard has nice mustard look. Walnut grips are sharp with some oil finish with light crack on left side from the escutcheon to the inside grip strap.

Condition: Bright shiny blue showing on barrel and other protected areas. The rest of the barrel regions show a nice dark brown patina. Case colors on loading-lever have turned to a grey metal brown. Frame retains ca 40% bright shiny blue and remaining regions have a nice brown coloration. Walnut grips retain most of their original oil finish complete with excellent cartouche. Chips around the edge of the bottom of the grips. Small dings on the butt of the grip.

Sharps gun is a .22 caliber, 2.5" barrel. Steel barrel, brass frame, rosewood grips. Stamped near hammer screws C. Sharps & Co. Philadelphia. Moore Teatfire Revolver .30 caliber, 2.25" barrel, serial number 4324. Steel barrel and cylinder, engraved brass frame, rosewood grips, backstrap engraved West Roxbury Police. (EST $300-$500)
Condition: Sharp's barrels are a smooth grey with a light pitting on barrels turning to a patinated brown. Brass frame is tarnished, grips have normal scratches and dings. Grip retainer's escutcheon is a replacement. Moore's barrel and cylinder have a nice smooth, light brown finish. Engraved brass frame has nicely tarnished, and on the backstrap is a period engraving West Roxbury Police.

218 N.A. SMITH PHILADELPHIA MEDIUM POCKET SIZED PERCUSION PISTOL,
.50 caliber, 6.5" octagonal barrel stamped on top Philadelphia. Breech area with gold and platinum inlays. Engraved German silver back lockplate stamped N.A. Smith. Breech, tang, trigger guard, hammer and buttcap with period engravings. German silver front sight, as well as escutcheon, nosecap, inlays, buttcap and trigger guard. Fine walnut checkered stock. Complete with ramrod and cap box in butt. (EST $1200-$1800)
Condition: Barrel has most of its original brown finish and original front sight. Wood retains ca 95% of its original varnish and turning to a pleasant purple-colored hue. Checkering is crisp. Overall excellent plus.

CIVIL WAR SMITH &WESSON NO. 2 REVOLVER INSCRIBED TO CAPT. A.H. BOGARDUS, 145TH ILLINOIS,
.32 caliber, 5” barrel, serial number 33026 and bears the owner’s inscription Capt. A. H. Bogardus/145th Regt. Ill Vol. in two lines on the reverse frame behind the cylinder.
This six-shot Smith & Wesson No. 2 was a widely popular private purchase weapon using advanced rimfire cartridges first manufactured in 1861 through 1874.
Captain Bogardus served in the three-month 145th Illinois Infantry during 1864 and earlier as a lieutenant in the short service 68th Illinois in 1862. After the war Bogardus gained international fame in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show as a premier sharpshooter winning numerous awards, medals and titles, including Champion of America and Champion Pistol Shot of the World.
Competitive trap shooting enthusiasts know Bogardus as an innovator and record holder in the sport. He was belatedly inducted into the National Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1969. In his later years Bogardus lived in Chicago and died in 1913 at age 79. Additional Bogardus material is elsewhere in the sale. (EST $700-$900)
Condition: Pistol is complete and original, overall gunmetal gray lacking any trace of factory blued finish. Correct rosewood grips retain significant original heavy varnish. Cylinder does not index when trigger is cocked. G.

Condition: Entire gun covered with a light scaly oxidation and dark brown patinated look. Grips are scuffed with some lines along bottom edges. Mechanically not functional and possibly needs a replacement trigger spring.

.44 caliber, 6" barrel, serial number 3983. Marked on left side of frame Starr Arms Co. New York. Right grip has SC carved in the top of the wood by the frame. Bottom of grips stamped S. Cooper Fillmore, MO. No information on this soldier could be found. (EST $400-$600)
Condition: Entire gun has traces of blued finish in all protected areas blending to a plum with light salt and pepper pitting scattered throughout the revolver. Grips are well worn with lots of nicks and dings.

Condition: Gun is a smooth grey turning brown with some light brown pitting covering entire gun. All markings are crisp. Grip retains some of original finish. Grips with dings and mars and letter L carved into the bottom.

Condition: Entire revolver has been refinished and re-nickeled and 100% finish remains. Grips are badly scuffed along the bottom.

CASED VOLCANIC PISTOL,
.31 caliber, 3.5" barrel, serial number 2000. Brass frame and walnut grips. Top of barrel stamped New Haven, Conn, Feb 14, 1854. Grips are numbered to the gun. In non-original case, but of very well-rendered modern construction. (EST $2000-$4000)
Condition: Barrel markings are very crisp and sharp. Barrel has traces of blued finish at the frame - the other regions are thinning from a plum-to-grey color, with scattered nominal light pitting. Brass frame is totally untouched and has a beautiful untouched mustard yellow look. Revolver is missing its brass cartridge follower. Hammer and finger lever have a nice brown patinated look. Grips are scuffed on both sides with five notches cut into the left grip. Bore is excellent.

MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOL BY A. WATERS,CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION,
.54 caliber, 8.5" barrel. Converted from flint to percussion most likely in the 1840's. Lockplate stamped A. Waters, Milbury, MS 1843. Walnut stock. (EST $500-$700)
Condition: Barrel, buttcap, lockplate and swivel ramrod all with a deep, rich chocolate brown finish. Hammer is a replacement. Stock shows some battering on left side. It still retains some of its oil finish. Left sideplate area of the wood is battered.

CIVIL WAR WHITNEY NAVY REVOLVER,
.36 caliber 7.5" barrel, six-shot pistol bearing the serial number 18523, having smooth cylinder and heavily worn E. Whitney /N. Haven address on barrel. No US inspector’s markings/cartouche visible. The closest serial number on record is 18533 issued to Co. D., 21st Pennsylvania Cavalry in 1864. The Whitney was a much sought after and reliable weapon. (EST $400-$600)
Condition: Frame and cylinder is a dark gunmetal gray with moderate pitting forward of cylinder, original walnut grips battered and worn at butt. Old vice and tool marks noted on loading-lever which was damaged (?) and repaired with head of frame screw forward of cylinder ground completely off. Cylinder does not index when hammer is pulled. G.

.36 caliber, 7.5" octagonal barrel, stamped on top E.Whitney/N. Haven. Walnut grips and brass trigger guard. (EST $800-$1200)
Condition: Entire gun has turned from a soft grey to a rich brown color, and has minor pitting. Nominal cylinder scene is visible. Brass trigger guard has silver plating in protected areas, the rest is worn with brass showing through. Period replacement front sight rendered with Rocky Mountain style half-moon placed in the center. Walnut grips with minimal dings and scratches, retaining most of its original oil finish. Overall a very sharp and crisp gun.

.36 caliber, serial number 4249, 7.5" round barrel stamped E. Whitney/N. Haven. Blued barrel, frame and cylinder. Cylinder engraved with cylinder scene. (EST $3500-$5000)
Condition: Barrel is excellent retaining ca 85% original bright, blue finish. Frame retains ca 40% bright blue finish, with all of the shiny blue on the recoil shield, on the top strap and around the recoil shield. Blued finish is thinning on backstrap and butt. Loading- lever has ca 85% original case colors and are slightly thinning. Brass trigger guard has beautifully mellowed with a blackened and untouched look. Cylinder has ca 80% original blued finish. Hammer has ca 95% original cased coloring. Ivory grips with a beautiful mellowed untouched and uncleaned look. Whitney revolvers with ivory grips are rare.
