38" wood cane with carved dog's head with jaws that can be manually opened by lever. Cane is intricately incised with geometric diamond pattern. Initials J.C. carved into the cane. Second cane is 35" with octagonal formed wood with brass tip and base. Third cane is 36.5" with floral patterns and dragonflies rendered into the metal. (EST $200-$400)

Condition: Tin retains ca 60% of its original label and with considerable rust.

base of horn etched April 4, 1775 WB 22. 11" horn with unusual tip. (EST $100-$200)

one is engraved with a dog, fish and a turket and overall length 12". Second horn is 7.5" and has primitive Arabesque folk carvings and a copper spout. Third horn is 7.5." (EST $50-$100)

Condition: First horn missing buttcap and has been cleaned.

LOT OF TWO POWDER HORNS, FIGHTING KNIFE AND CIVIL WAR BULLET,

knife with 8.5" blade and wood grip complete with scabbard. Two powder horns measuring 11.5" and 9.5". Paper encased bullet, Union Metallic Co. Cartridge box and an iron bullet mold. Plus, khaki webbed cotton bag. (EST $100-$200)

LOT OF TWO FRENCH SWORDS,

M1850 Foot Officer's Sword with 30.5" bade with two fullers. Sword is marked 13083 on hilt. European markings on blade at hilt. Brass hilt and pommel. Wood grips and metal scabbard. Second sword with 30.5" blade, single fuller on both sides of blade. Numbered at top of hilt 92469. Wood grips, steel knucklebow, pommel and guard. Metal scabbard. (EST $200-$400)

Condition: First sword's brass hilt, pommel and knucklebow have a nice deep tarnished brass. Blade is very sharp and crisp with most of its original polish. Nominal salt and pepper pitting. Metal scabbard is covered in a crusty rust surface. Second sword's blade is sharp and crisp with all of its original polish and covered in a light yellow grease. Knucklebow, hilt and pommel have a nice aged look. Scabbard with some rough spotting on it.

TWO AMERICAN CIVIL WAR SWORDS,

includes M1850 Foot Officer's sword, with 31.2" single-edged blade with 12" false edge and 3/4-length fuller, with etched scrollwork and U.S., marked on left ricasso C. Roby & Co./W. Chelmsford, Mass., single-piece cast brass quillon/guard/knuckle bow with scrolled quillon, open floral guard and reeded bow with slot for sword knot, cast brass stepped oval pommel with 1/4 backstrap with laurel wreath, ray skin covered wood grip with braided brass wire wrap. Total length 37"; AND a M1840 Noncommissioned Officer's sword with 28" single-edged steel blade with full fuller and 2.5" false edge, stamped on right ricasso U.S./DPM/1863 and on left Emerson/&/Silver/Trenton/N.J., with cast single-piece hilt with quillon/guard, "D" knuckle bow, ball pommel and false wire wrapped grip; total length 34.25". (EST $200-$300)

Condition: Both lacking scabbards, else VG.

PAIR OF EUROPEAN THEATRICAL SWORDS,

34" blade etched on both sides with floral ornament along the false-edge. Both swords with dulled tip. Underside of grip with fine rocaille pattern. Wide knuckleguard with red velvet lining. One knuckleguard stamped 1235. Shagreen handles. Both with metal scabbards and iron carrying loops. (EST $200-$300)

Condition: One sword with rocaille pattern ca 10% visible.
