Winchester Model 1884 Rifle,
2006, Firearms and Early Militaria Auction, Dec 7
.30-30 caliber, 20" barrel, serial number 842441. Blued barrel magazine tube, frame and lever. Walnut stock and forearm.

Condition:  
Barrel and magazine tube retaining ca 95% original blue. Mint bore. Front band retaining ca 60% finish, the rest is flaked. Rear band retaining ca 70% original blue turning brown and flaked. Receiver retaining ca 30% blue in all of the protected areas and the bottom tang. Bottom lever has ca 80% soft blue finish. Butt plate with ca 80% blue worn only at top of heel and bottom of the toe. Wood retains most of the original finish showing dings from use. Gun has a very sharp and crisp look.
