4pp. letter from Cameron Corry of the 5th Mich. Inf., Company G, to hi wife. Written in ink and datelined Fort [illegible] Va / April the 2nd/65, the letter reads in part...Elisa dear you must excuse this poor writing for I am in a hurry...we got to fire a national salute from our fort of 35 guns the colonel was just here and told me that he wanted me to take the 300 pounder the largest gun in the fort and we are to commence within one hour so I shall have to hurry up...Elisa I am awful sorry that Leroy has been so sick the dear little child...I think the johnies have got their last blow, I think they will soon cave... Corry mustered into Company G on February 7, 1865 and was discharged on June 7, 1865 at Washington, DC.

Condition: Very good condition. Minor separation at fold.
