* J. Stevens/Springfield Model 87M Training Rifle
2010, Historic Firearms and Early Militaria, April 28 & 29
.22 caliber, 23.5" round barrel, no S/N, military-style walnut stock with handguard and M-1 style triggerguard. Trigger guard is a cut down M1 trigger guard. This is a training rifle for the larger .30 caliber M1 rifle. Marked on the side of the receiver Springfield Model 87M and J. Stevens Arm Co. Chicopee Falls, Mass, USA in two lines. Overall length 43.5".

Condition:  
This is a ca 98% gun in beautiful shape. Firearm retains most of the original blue finish. Military-style stock has some very minute scratches. Overall, an excellent rifle. A great piece for the M1 collector. Bore is excellent.
