.50-70 caliber, 40" barrel. Burnished bright barrel, bands, triggerguard, buttplate and nosecap. Blackened breechblock, top strap and rear two-leaf sight. Case colored lock and hammer. Walnut stock with three bands. The last of the three-band rifle-muskets.

Condition: Rifle is in mint condition, retaining all of its blackened finish and case colors. May have been lightly cleaned. Stock with a great red open grained look. A mint "ESA" cartouche, with a circle "P" for a firing proof which indicates one the last rifles issued in 1872. This rifle is in outstanding condition.
