A beautifully carved 2-piece folk art cane with a 2.5" high burl knob in the form of a male head with mouth wide open. He has 2 braided hair tails from forehead forming 2 U shaped loops on top of head. A winged cherub head is carved in high relief at the back of his head. All mounted on a tapered knobby hardwood shaft with .75" brass & steel ferrule. Some chipping of cherub; minor drying cracks. Total length 36.5".
Condition: One of the cherub wings in chipped and nose of same also chipped, very nice old varnish finish, probably original, slightly open shrinkage line in burl.
