FRENCH ART NOUVEAU SILVER CANE

(EST $400 - $600)
> >

The cap on the end of the crook handle of this cane, and the band in the upper part of the shaft are decorated with applied lillies and geometric figures. The handle cap is just over 3" long (average), with additional circles extending beyond the cap. The shaft band is c. 2" wide, with scalloped edge patterns and the same circle extending from one lily. The other extention seems to be missing. Both silver pieces have hallmarks, one being "A K", the other is indistinct. The shaft is stepped partridge wood and has a 1.25" horn ferrule. Minor wear to finish, especially on curve of handle from use. Overall length is 35".

Condition: There is a tiny hole in the shaft where the other circle for the "root" of the lily was attached. At least 1 lily on the handle and 1 on the band are coming loose, or at least are not applied tightly since the edge is sharp. Minor wear to shaft finish, especially on curve of handle.
