50+ 19th and early 20th century Turnverein medals, badges, tokens, and pinbacks from various cities throughout the country, including Akron, Toledo, and Cincinnati, OH, Washington and St. Louis, MO, Milwaukee, WI, Kansas City, KS, Detroit and Saginaw, MI, Covington, KY, New York, and more, plus a Bohemiam Gymnastic Association cdv. Many of the medals, badges, and pins feature portraits of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, who is commonly known as the Turnvater Jahn, or "Father of Gymnastics" Jahn. Highlights include the In Arte Voluptas Cincinnatia and the Schlaraffia Totowa medals, each marked A. Schwerdt Stuttgart on verso, 4 in. long.
